Jo-Ann Strauss is a model, public speaker and businesswoman. In 2000, she represented her country as Miss South Africa at the Miss Universe pageant in Puerto Rico as well as at the Miss World pageant hosted at Sun City in in 2001.
Strauss has a variety of business interests including work as an international speaker, a venture capital company, and various corporate social investment projects. She is also much sought-after as an MC.
During her reigning year as Miss South Africa, she started her media career with the Afrikaans magazine programme Pasella before anchoring the English lifestyle magazine show Top Billing.
She has featured as a cover girl for many South African magazines.
In 2008 Strauss spearheaded the Princess Project to give deserving young ladies the chance to go to their matric balls in designer dresses previously owned by South Africa’s top celebrities.
She currently produces and hosts a television show called Glambition, which is broadcast on eTV.
