If someone is injured on duty due to a work accident, who is responsible for the employee’s absence? The person was booked off for 6 weeks due to ligaments that was torn in his ankle. Does this person use his own sick leave or is the company responsible?

If this is the question the employer only is liable for the payment if the employee has a valid sick note and only up to his allowable sick leave.
