Through its enterprise development arm, Zimele, Anglo American has aided the growth and development of project management and mining solutions company Vista Wa Seroka Trading Enterprise.
A R1,5 million loan to owner Vusi Seroka enabled his business Vista Wa Seroka Trading Enterprise has substantially grown, and has been able to employ several people from the local community.
The funding was used to:
- Purchase two bakkies
- Buy office furniture
- Pay employee salaries
- Purchase materials
- Keep the company afloat.
The SME has been in operation for five years, and currently has 37 permanent employees and 15 part-time employees.
The company is involved in numerous projects such as welding management, electrical management, waste and recycling services, instrumentation and electrical goods, laundromat and cleaning services.
The company also supplies and delivers tools and equipment to Anglo American’s Global Shared Services office as well as to Mafube, Goedehoop, Greenside, and Zibulo Collieries.
Seroka notes that Zimele’s support has proved crucial in aiding his business ambitions.
