Free Online Education for ‘Treps

The Cape Town branch of Entrepreneurs Organization (EO) launched its Entrepreneur Bootcamp on the 27 February. The first of its kind, the EO Bootcamp includes nine online courses that make up a comprehensive education for anyone wishing to learn more about entrepreneurship.

The courses cover a range of subjects from identifying business opportunities and business planning, through to financial management, effective marketing and management and growth. All anyone needs to participate is access to a computer and an Internet connection. Enrolment is 100% free, and students who complete all nine courses will receive a certificate from Entrepreneurs Organization.

For entrepreneurs, by entrepreneurs

“These nine courses have been designed specifically for entrepreneurs, by entrepreneurs. We’ve recorded over 90 video interviews with some of South Africa’s leading entrepreneurs, and combined them with relevant textbook content and engaging interactive quizzes, making these courses perfect learning tools for people who want to become better entrepreneurs,” says Sam Paddock of EO.

Made possible by GetSmarter, a premier online education company, and sponsorship by van Schaik Publishers, EO has collaborated with its members to offer aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to gather skills of both an academic and a practical nature.

Mentorship opportunities

Ten candidates who complete the Bootcamp will be offered mentorships with EO members, who include representatives ofCape Townbrands such as Col’Cacchio, Digicape, V&A Waterfront Organic Market, Colourworks and Adventure Bootcamp, amongst others.

There are still sponsorship opportunities available for organisations that would like to be affiliated with this NPO registered project.
