Do you have what it takes to represent Africa globally? U-Start will be sending three early stage entrepreneurs to Italy in May 2014 to meet investors, growth partners and exclusive mentorship to grow and accelerate your business.

The U-Start Conference is an international event held in Milan every May and powered by U-Start. The aim is to help high potential startups grow, get investment and be involved into an international start-up ecosystem made up of top players.

The 2014 satellite U-Start Conferences will be hosted in Brazil, South Africa, Russia and Switzerland.

Only the most exciting startups will be invited to the main event in Milan, where they will have the chance to present to international investors.

How to enter

U-Start Conference Africa is the annual satellite event for early stage and growth stage African enterprises that are ready to scale and need investment in series A funding. The U-Start Conference Africa offers entrepreneurs the opportunity to present their ideas in front of some of the most active international investors.

20 African companies will pitch in a one-day long session in front of a panel of investors and U-Start’s local partners.

The local U-Start business plan competition will be held in Cape Town on 6 March 2014. Local and international investors will be scouting and only the top 15 – 20 businesses will be allowed to pitch.

From the top 15-20 pitches only three companies will be chosen to represent Africa in the U-Start Conference happening in Italy, 2014.
