When you meet John Demartini it’s hard to imagine that at the age of seven he was told by a teacher that he had a learning disability and would never read, write or communicate normally. Afterall, this is a man who owns several homes all over the globe, his main residence being a luxury cruise liner, The World, described on his website as “the only resort community to continually circumnavigate the globe.”

He dropped out of school at 14, headed for California and became a surfer. At 17 he was in Hawaii when his life almost came to an end as a result of strychnine poisoning from eating the hallucinogenic woodrose plant. That brought an end to his experimentation with recreational drugs and turned his life around. TodayDemartini is a doctor, a philosopher, author and international speaker. He has been a successful chiropractor for many years and consults with many health professionals. His thoughts on healing and philosophy have impacted the lives of thousands of people. Your professional persona is your personal branding in the workplace. It refers to the way that you conduct yourself publicly in a business setting, and the image you project to coworkers and colleagues. Far from contrived or inauthentic, it’s simply the polished-up way that you present yourself professionally.

How do I develop a professional persona?

It’s actually extremely easy to develop a professional persona. All you have to decide is who you want to be in the workplace, and then take efforts with your attitude, dress, and conduct to become that version of yourself. Action follows intention, and over time, you’ll find that adopting your professional persona feels as natural as putting on your coat before leaving the house.
